After about three cups of coffee and a visit to the little boy's room - Johnny went with him for moral and other
kind of support but just said "Don't ask!" when I asked how it went - Hannibal started to look quite human again. ... I mean;
elf again. And I tried to find a smart way of asking about the 'bimbo' when Johnny suddenly said "So - your boss has found
a new lady love ... What does Mrs. Claus think about that?" Johnny is one of Mrs. C's favorites *o* ... but she's female,
isn't she -o* ? ... so much for sublety though *O* "She's furious" Hannibal sighed "And since I introduced that little
bi ,, broad Jordana Whitz to him to begin with she also somehow think it is MY fault the whole sorry mess ... Can you imagine
that? How was I suppose to know he would decide to run off with the little chit! .. he could be her grandfather for all I
know. Might be too ... There's some mystery about Jordana's maternal grandfather - nobody seem to know who he is although
people don't mind guessing of course" Johnny looked a bit worried at that. So I stated "But surely Mr. Claus himself
would know if he has - who shall I put it ... - 'been with' the .. young lady's grandmother once in a while - back around
the right time. And if he has he would be careful, I think. I mean he does seem to have lost his head just now. But still
- he's suppose to be a nice man ..." "I think I have read that name - Jordana Whitz - in the gossip columns" Johnny said
thoughtfully "Some spoiled rich young girl - from a humongously rich family of "high elves", I believe ... Her family - the
Whitzses and - and the Dales owns a lot of restaurants and inns and so on ... And a biiiiiig casino in Los Megas Bucksie -
right, Meepsie? I nodded at that.
"Yes, that's her" Hannibal confirmed. Then added "I can't see what she would want with the Boss Man ... It's
hard work being Mrs. Claus, you know. Why back when the whole thing started it was a feast to celebrate that the year was
turning and we were going towards spring and better times. We also celebrated the Mother - praying to her that she would remember
her children so we wouldn't have to starve ... And then ate a lot of good things to show we were sure she would remember.
All that is still there - although the Greek and later those meddling Romans thought they had to have a man to pray to. I
mean of course a god - in Rome he was called Saturn. But it's still the Mother who does all the hard work I can tell you" Johnny
smiled at that and leaned over and kissed my cheek. It isn't like that in our little family. We try to share the work so as
to have more time both of us to play together. "Actually" Hannibal continued "I think Mrs. Claus could very well going
on alone and/or hired some other bloke to be Santa Claus - it was her gig after al in the first place - if it wasn't for the
fact that the Boss Man took The Spirit of Christmas with him when he left in high dungeon from that board meeting yesterday.
And without that - there'll be no Christmas cheer - presents - excellent food and candy and so on. ... we will of course also
not have trouble paying the bills the next ten months plus having to suffer through all kind of torturous diets known to 'man'
all of January and most of February too because of not enough money to buy proper food. But no Christmas would be awful -
and awful boooooring just the same" My sweetie looked so scared thinking about that that I decided there and then that
we had to try and find Santa Claus and get him back to his wife and his job - or at the very least get The Spirit of Christmas
back where it belonged! ... although I hadn't the foggiest idea how to go about such a tall order. But has such a little
fact of life ever stopped a hero from setting out on a quest? ... here I conveniently totally forgot I was hatched a yellow
chicken quite a while back and has never been and is no where near to be or becoming a hero - erm - heroine *o*
