I looked worried at Jack.
He always calls Johnny and me 'kids' although he's younger than me
and not a second older than Johnny but I am use to that. I didn't want anything to happen to him though or Loke to get a hold
of any weapons either for that matter.
But Jack send me a brilliant smile which clearly signaled "Trust me!" and I
do.
Just didn't trust Loke.
Johnny was also worried and said "Shouldn't we come too, Jack? People
who sells weapons - at least those I think you'll contact - can be dangerous people and - and ... We don't want anything to
happen to you" And I nodded seriously touching Jack's arm gently.
For a moment Jack had the funniest look on his beautiful
face hearing that and I feared he would start crying.
Men definitely should cry when they feel like it in my opinion -
I have a theory that would lead to less violence in the world. But Loke would have loved it for all the wrong reason and milked
it for every little thing it was worth.
Luckily for us Loke's thoughts were as usual on himself and he didn't notice Jack
being moved by what Johnny said and I did.
Loke just said angrily "Don't you think I had bought weapons a long time ago
if I had been able to !?! But ever since that there - what ever you call it - 9/11 thingy - the Americans who make the best
and biggest weapons after all have become practically hysterical about who they sell weapons too. It's not like in the old
days when everybody with enough money could buy. You have to represent a state somehow now a days and even then you have to
more or less swear never to use those weapons for anything sensibly unless the Americans give you permission! .. and how am
I suppose to explain I want to level Seth to the ground? Oh ... Erm - I guess the contact you are talking about is not quite
- eh-hm - above board, so to speak. You don't look like a fellow who represent a state in any way"
"Nope. I definitely
do not" Jack said - again his normal calm cool self.
Then looked at me and said with a funny little wry smile "It's very
sweet of you that you want to come. That both of you want to come ... But please don't. The guys I want to go see don't get
along well with females who're able to think for themselves so would squirm and wriggle if you didn't disguised yourself,
Chickiepoo. Either that or they'ld try to harm you ... And Johnny - they would think they could walk all over you. I have
difficulty enough convincing them that I really mean business ..."
For a moment I thought Johnny would be offended. But
then he smiled at Jack and said "Still ... Take very good care of yourself and get home in one piece, Jack"
Jack nodded
- smiling too - and promise to do his very best.
Then he turned to Loke and said calmly "Well, sir ... Shall we go?"
"Erm - no. That is ..." Loke
looked decidedly uncomfortable by now and was looking down at the grass we were standing on "I - eh - don't have the money
for - erm - weapons. Lucifera - the witch, who's promised to transform the love - my property for me said she would do so
because she's in love with me. ... no more dilly-dallying, Meeps! Get Hermes here! NOW!"
Imagine that - Loke was just as
poor as the rest of us ...
WONDERFUL *O*
But that brought me back to the old problem - that I had no way to get Hermes there. So I finally decided to tell
Loke that I couldn't do what he wanted.
For a moment I thought he would literally exploded.
Then he pushed Johnny and
Jack to either side like they were very small children and grabbing me in both arms dragged me really close roaring "You WHAT
!!! ? !!!"
The only thing I could think of answering was "Clu--clu-cluck?" ... which isn't that intelligent, I know - but
he scared me! But then a slender hand tapped Loke on the shoulder and a calm woman's voice said "I would put the little bird
down if I was you, young man"
Save at the last moment or what?
"Tune in" on the next page and you'll know -o*
