You see .. as you might have guessed from the last half of the title of this I have just being sipping my drink
in Rick's Cafe - the one in Casablanca, you know?
AND enjoyed myself thoroughly *O*
But as usually Johnny Depp
- in the shapely shape of my sweet Johnny Sweets, though -O* - can't keep out of my imagination for long ...
I don't know
what it is with that man?
Tshee-hee
But you must admit that since Rick is cynical, sentimental, willful, romantic,
stubborn, helpful - just like Jack Sparrow? - tshee-hee *O* - it wouldn't be a bad role for Johnny Depp to play, would it
now?
So while faithfully following Humphrey Bogart around and loving every minute of Ingrid Bergman I started to fantasize
about Johnny playing Rick - and in colour, of course -o*
Charlize Theron almost looks like Bergman, so she can be
Ilse Lund. Armand Assante will be a wonderful Louis Renault, the French policeman. Christopher Lee can rumble on as the German
mayor Strasser ...
And I think that in these time of equality between the sexes Judi Dench can play Barrymore's role as
Ferrarri, the owner of the Blue Parrot across the street from Rick's cafe!
Or if she is busy trying to make James Bond
fit for mixed company - that is the real 'Mission Impossible' you know ... - I am sure we can force Robbie Coltrane to play
- did I cluck 'force'? I meant of course 'persuade' Mr. Coltrane to play with Johnny again -o*
... perhaps with Drew Barrymore
as his indeed lovely assistant since its her grandfather's old 'haunt' - although I do hope he doesn't haunt the place ...
...
..
.
Now my imaginary Johnny had just informed me that he would much prefer to play Ugarte, thank you! Peter Lorre's
role as a shifty, cheap black market dealer in visas and other papers is so much more interesting, he claims.
But he won't be allowed !!!
The little guy'll have to be the hero whether he like it or not!
Savvy, captain
Spa ... Tshe *O*
... John Hannah can play Ugarte - and Cuba Gooding can be Sam and play - or at least pretend
to play if he can't in reality - "As Time Goes By" for Charlize Theron's Miss Lund.
Let me see ... Who have I forgot?
Maybe Christina Ricci as Yvonne, who is in love with Rick at the beginning of the movie and - and Richard
E. Grant and - and ... somebody or other *blushes * can play the small, but important roles as the staff on Rick's Cafe.
So - there !!!
Do any of you have the money for making this wonderful mo... - what, sweetie?

-
That there pesky invention normally called Johnny Sweets - or my imaginary Johnny - has just told me, that
I have forgotten to find an actor for the very, VERY important role as Victor Lazlo, Ilse Lund's very heroic, upstanding husband
...
Yes, yes, Johnny, you are sweet and I do love you *o* Even when complaining *O*
But ...
That was the problem
I originally wanted to ask you dear people about !!!
How the He ... How the Hedgehog Heaven do one find an actor
- a MAN - gorgeous enough to make a sane hotblooded woman (can one be sane and hotblooded at the same time, by the way?) want
to leave Casablanca with him and by doing so leave Johnny to a almost certain death in the hands of the very angry
Germans ???
I really hope you can tell me who is so wonderful that anybody would prefer him to Johnny ...
But
could you please send any suggestions you have to Timbuktu 'cause my fictional fellow - my darling big CHEESE - erm - tease
-o* ? - has just ask Renault to include THIS chicken among 'the usual suspects' - so ...
So CLUCK !!!
And BYE-BYE
*O*
