I try a plan - without a single drop of rum even *O*

Halfway down Johnny stopped on the landing though and said quietly "What if Adolf and Brunhilda and the rest of the werewolves start to join in any 'discussion' we have on Jordana's side. ... they scares me - Adolf would have bitten Ribs' head off that day if you have not send your little lightning past his nose, Meeps - scaring him enough to dropping the little fairy"
I smiled thinking of said lightning - being one of cousin Raist's SPOILT little magic friends - complaining wildly afterwards that Adolf had bad breath and in general probably wasn't the best of friends with soap and water.
But both the lightning and I - and Ribs, of course - were scared of him too.
"Yes, I wish Tink had said why she didn't want to come - that Adolf and his family and friends might be here. Then I would have brought some more magic equipment to help us. Now I only have my wishing stick. So we can at least escape if things goes pear shaped ... What's wrong with pear shaped, by the way? I am pear shaped - broad at the bottom. Erm - sorry. I will stick to the point. ... we just have to wing it, I guess. And a sparrow and a chicken should be able to do that, don't you think so, baby?"
Johnny - very maturely *O* - stuck his tongue out at me to answer that question. But looked a bit happier hearing we could escape. Then he said seriously "We have to get Legolas with us if something goes wrong. We got him into this, after all" We all agreed on that, of course. And then moved down stairs to see what we could do.
And it was a good thing we did 'cause when we arrived at the main room at the first floor where the actually dancing went on there was no dancing - but all the yelling and screaming which very often go before a fight ...
And the two screaming the loudest was Brunhilda - with an angry Adolf and his brothers standing around spoiling for a fight - opposit a perhaps even more angry Jordana with only a worried looking Legolas at her side. ... it wasn't pretty names the "ladies" called each other - Jack's pirate friends might have blushed hearing it -o*
"Oh, for clucking out loud !!!" I couldn't help mumbling after having listened a bit and decided that Brunhilda was mad 'cause Adolf had been too interested in Jordana - probably helped along by the magic belt she was wearing - and Adolf was mad because he didn't want to be seen interested in a mere human. This particular were-wolf gang is very 'racistic' if one can call it that.
But this whole sorry mess actually gave me an idea so I whispered to Johnny "See if you can't persuade Jordana to take off the belt and jewel - perhaps suggest that she don't want Brunhilda to rip it off in a cat fight and run off with it ... Tell her you will keep it safe for her. Use all of your charm - and some of Jack's - and be quick about it, baby! Before they start kicking and yanking eaxh others hair out"
My rather devious little plan might have worked perfectly because Jordana agreed readily to letting the ever so charming Johnny hold the precious jewel for her.
He later told me he didn't mention the belt at all just took it off her with the jewel - and then moved over to me. Discreetly taking a hold of young Legolas' shirt collar and dragging the startled young man with him.
But ...
All the best laid plans - by mise, men and sparrows - or in this case a chicken -o*
Suddenly a loud booming sound was heard and smoke and sparks swirled and flew - he also was a melodramatic bloke - and there stood Loke in his finest glad rags looking a bit like - well - perhaps like Jeremy Irons with long black hair.
Very charming but also much more deadly than Mr Irons has ever played ...
Brunhilda and Adolf having stood where Loke was now standing - ended up on the floor with all the fight gone out of them - even were-wolves could sense they were way out of their league here.
"Clu-cluck !!!" I cackled and regretted it immediately because Loke noticed me straight away and said looking angry "I knew it was a mistake to make this thing go on here in your hometown. You never could refrain from meddling, you little ..."
I was quite ready to leave my hometown and never come home again if I could just get away from him and whispered nervously to Johnny "What do we do !!! Where do we go ..."
""Anywhere but here"" Johnny quoted. And I could hear despite our trouble a little smile in his voice. My Johnny love Ichabod and Sleepy Hollow.
Beside us Legolas had started to draw Jordana into his arms in order to protect her but she wriggled free and moved towards Loke complaining loudly "You said, it would be so easy, Grandfather! But it's boring being with that ooooooold bloke !!!"
Here I heard an offended gasp beside me from Santa Claus. But what did he expect, really? They were much too different in every way for it to be smooth sailing on the ocean of love ...
"Yes - well" Loke said not sounding that interested in Jordana's problems.
"Did you get it though, girl? The Spirit of Chri ... Christmas ... And what the Hell is the Belt doing around Meeps' waist! You are not tying those strings, young man!"
Johnny has never been one to obey orders though if he don't want to so he did tie 'those strings' behind my back. And I wonder for a moment "How the heck can this belt fit both Jordana and fat little old me?" But then again it is magically *O*
And it certainly is. Because suddenly every male in the room looked at me like I was the most attractive woman in the world ...
You might think that would be a very gratifying experience - but to this chicken it was deeply SCARY!
